Drive a Change in Obesity

In an initiative collaboration with Novo Nordisk pharmaceutical company, FUE Pharmacy launched an awareness day in FUE Campus under the auspices of Prof. Nevine Ragy – FUE Vice President; Prof. Hanan Refaat, Dean of Pharmacy and Prof. Nabila El Maraghy – Vice Dean of Pharmacy.

Under the name and goal of 'Drive a Change in Obesity', the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector of FUE Pharmacy organised this informative event to raise awareness about obesity burden and metabolic syndrome complications, The event was running on 21/03/2022 from 9 am to 3 pm as checkpoint booth in campus. The booth offered the measurement of the inBody test (body composition measures), body weight and random blood glucose level (BGL). Also, the booth provided medical advice by specialists on how to prevent and combat obesity. A total of 415 staff and student attendees from the different faculties of FUE participated in the event and showed high interest to raise awareness against Obesity among their peers and colleagues.

As obesity is a major public health concern among adolescents and youngsters, Novo Nordisk Egypt is keen to develop innovative treatment options that help people with chronic diseases, using its expertise and innovation to help understand and manage obesity.
