The course promotes the understanding and application of fundamental disease process in clinical settings. General concepts of disease, including etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical significance and to relate them to pathologic changes in cells, tissues, organs and body systems. The course teaches students the pathogenesis of various symptoms & diseases affecting the human body accordingly altered physiological functions of human organs are explained to enable students to understand the relation between symptoms & the disease, which might be helpful in diagnosis. These concepts are applied in a systems oriented approach to disease process affecting e.g. musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, renal, nervous, gastrointestinal, immune, hematological and endocrine systems
